The Compton Community College District, which operates Compton College, is governed
by a five-member Board of Trustees elected by the community. Governing Board elections
are held every two years in even-numbered years and coincide with the statewide general
election, held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Trustees serve
staggered terms so that, as nearly as practical, one half of the Board is elected
at each trustee election. Trustee Areas 1, 4, and 5 will be elected in 2026 and every
four years thereafter; Trustee Areas 2 and 3 will be elected in 2028 and every four
years thereafter. [Board Policy 2100 Board Elections]
Trustee Areas
The Compton Community College District Board of Trustees is elected by trustee area
in accordance with California Education Code section 72022. Each trustee must reside
in and be registered to vote in the trustee area they seek to represent, and trustees
are elected only by registered voters within that same trustee area. The District’s
Trustee Area Map provides a visual reference for the trustee areas.
