Handshake is a career platform designed specifically for college students and recent graduates. It connects students with employers, internships, job opportunities, and career resources all in one place. Many colleges and universities use Handshake as their official job and internship portal, making it easier for students to explore career paths and connect with employers who want to hire students and alumni.
Students and Alumni
Through Handshake, students can search for part-time jobs, internships, and full-time career opportunities that match their interests and major. The platform also allows students to attend career fairs, workshops, and networking events. You can also direct message employers through Handshake.
The best part: As a student already enrolled in classes, the school automatically creates a Handshake account for you. So you can simply log in using your campus login information. Once you log in, you can build your profile, upload your resume, search for job opportunities, and explore upcoming career events.

- DO NOT request a student Handshake account through the platform.
- Go to your school’s Handshake login page.
- Select the option to sign in with your school credentials.
- Enter the same username and password you use for your Compton College email.
- Note: Incoming students obtain access to Handshake once they are enrolled in classes.
Complete your profile by:
- Adding your major
- Interests
- Career goals
Note: This helps Handshake send you job leads tailored to your interests and major.
