Study Room Policy

The Library offers six study rooms to currently registered Compton College students. Additional study rooms are also available on the second floor of the L-SSC building inside the Student Success Center

Rules for Use

Library Conduct should be observed when using a study room. 
Limited to six people per room.

Use of a study room is further limited by the following:
  • Two hours per person, per day
  • Agreement to forfeit room after abandonment of 15 minutes. Items left behind will be held at Circulation Desk.
  • At least one student must be present in room with student ID at all times. 
  • No food or drinks without a lid.
  • Maintain appropriate volume for conversation. Study rooms are NOT soundproof.
  • Do not damage, add, or rearrange furniture.
  • Do not lower shades.
  • Use only dry erase markers on whiteboards.
Any infraction of these rules will result in the loss of study room privileges. 
The Library is not responsible for any items left in the study rooms.

How to Borrow a Study Room

  1. Go to the Circulation Desk to request a study room in person. You will need to present your current Compton College student ID card AND a physical California ID card.
  2. You will need to sign a study room usage form and be responsible for your behavior.
  3. Library staff will unlock the study room for you.
