First Year Experience Workshops

The First Year Experience (FYE) program offers engaging workshops and campus programming throughout the Fall and Spring semesters to support students as they begin their journey at Compton College. FYE workshops focus on academic success and college readiness, covering topics such as educational planning, study strategies, financial literacy, wellness, and navigating campus resources. These sessions are designed to be interactive, practical, and relevant to the real experiences of first-year students.

In addition to academic workshops, FYE hosts community-based events and campus engagement opportunities that help students connect with peers, faculty, and staff while building a strong sense of belonging. Through creative, social, and collaborative programming, students are encouraged to explore the college experience beyond the classroom. Our goal is to ensure students feel academically prepared, supported, and connected, empowering them to make the most of their time at Compton College as they navigate this exciting new chapter.
