The FYE Program Application is
NOW OPEN for Summer/Fall 2026. We look forward to seeing your application!
There are
2 deadlines to apply for the First Year Experience (FYE) Program!
Priority Deadline: Sunday, May 17th (for The Coyote Collective Summer Residential Program participation)
- FYE Orientation: Wednesday, May 20, 2026
Final Deadline: Sunday, August 16th (for full transition going into Fall 2026)
- FYE Orientation: Wednesday, August 19, 2026 (New Student Welcome Day)
By submitting the official FYE Program application, you will receive a follow up email
within
2-5 business days whether or not you do qualify to be part of the FYE program. From there, you will
receive next steps on the FYE Orientation and/or The Coyote Collective Summer Residential
Program details.
NOTE:
- Any student who applies after the May 17th priority deadline may not be eligible to participate in The Coyote Collective Summer Residential Program
- After the final deadline on August 16th students may not be able to officially join the FYE Program.

To make sure you follow all necessary steps to become a Compton College FYE student:
STEP #1: Apply to Compton College via CCCApply
STEP #2: Complete your ID verification with Admissions and Records
STEP #3: Complete New Student Orientation via MyCompton Portal
STEP #4: Apply for Financial Aid (either FAFSA or CA Dream Act application)
STEP #5: Apply for the FYE Program through our application
STEP #6: Attend the Mandatory FYE Orientation (to activate your status as an FYE student)
STEP #7: Meet with an FYE Counselor to build your first semester plan (will happen either
during The Coyote Collective Summer Residential Program or New Student Welcome Day)
STEP #8: Register for your Summer 2026 class (if participating in The Coyote Collective) and/or
your Fall 2026 classes
STEP #9: Apply for the Oliver W. Connor Promise Program, EOPS/Care/NextUp, CalWorks, and/or Special Resource Center (if eligible for their programs)
STEP #10: Accept and enroll into the FYE Canvas Hub (all FYE related information will be available
throughout the academic year and you will receive an invitation through your Compton
student email)
Completing these steps before the Fall semester will help make your transition into
your first semester smooth and stress-free. Be sure to complete each one!
