We are excited to welcome Aaron Araujo to the Compton Community College District team.
Aaron is a detail-oriented professional with experience in financial auditing, data
analysis, and customer service. Aaron brings strong analytical and problem-solving
skills, with experience identifying discrepancies and managing high-volume data with
precision. Aaron’s background reflects a strong commitment to accuracy, efficiency,
and supporting sound financial operations.Fun Fact: Aaron is a proud graduate of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
We are excited to welcome Chantal Gurrola to the Compton Community College District
team. As a first-generation college graduate holding a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology
from Cal State, Dominguez Hills, she is dedicated to empowering students from K–12
through community college to achieve their academic and personal aspirations. Fluent
in both English and Spanish strengthens Chantal’s ability to effectively serve and
advocate for diverse communities. Areas of expertise include student support, case
management, and resource coordination.Fun Fact: Chantal grew up surrounded by animals including rabbits, ducks, chickens, and dogs
We are excited to welcome Jovan Henderson to the Compton Community College District
team. Jovan is an experienced HR professional specializing in benefits systems management,
with nearly 20 years of leading successful system implementations and enhancements.
Jovan combines strong project management skills with a customer-focused approach to
deliver efficient, high-quality benefits administration solutions. Jovan is passionate
about supporting organizations and employees through streamlined processes, thoughtful
collaboration, and reliable technology solutions.Fun Fact: Jovan and her siblings were all named after colognes.
We are excited to welcome Steven Nuno to the Compton Community College District. Steven
earned his MBA from Grand Canyon University and brings valuable experience in Human
Resources and organizational support. He previously served as a provisional team member
in the HR Department, where he assisted with daily HR operations and responsibilities.
Steven also has a strong background in Finance and Accounting, supporting daily operations
through reporting, audits, timecard verification, and team coordination. He is known
for being detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to supporting both employees
and leadership in achieving success.Fun Fact: Steven played baseball up to the collegiate level Coach Shannon Williams used to be his travel baseball coach. He also enjoys traveling to different major league baseball stadiums, hanging out with his dog, and golfing.
