Eligibility Requirements

 

Eligibility for EOPS                         

  • California resident or qualify under the CA Dream Act
  • Enroll in 12 units or more at Compton College
  • Completed less than 70 degree applicable units and has not earned a degree
  • Demonstrate financial need by qualifying for a for the California Promise Grant
  • Students must also have an educational need in one of the following areas:
    • Not a high school graduate
    • A high school graduate with a cumulative GPA below 2.5
    • Prior enrollment in college remedial courses
    • Other factors as determined by the EOPS/CARE Director

Eligibility for CARE

  • All EOPS eligibility requirements (as stated above)
  • Current recipient of CalWORKs/TANF (cash aid) for themselves or dependent child(ren)
  • Students who receive GAIN services and/ or are current CalWORKs students can receive EOPS/CARE
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Single head of household
  • Required with CARE Application:
    • A copy, not original, of current Verification of Benefits that is dated within 30 days of submission
