Following the ribbon cutting ceremony on September 8 for the Compton Community College District’s new Football Stadium and Track, the field was ready just in time for the first Tartar Football home game of the season. Students, faculty, staff and members of the community are invited to spend "Saturdays with the Tartars" for local sports entertainment that is fun for the whole family!

The $2.5 million project funded by the Measure CC Bond included a renovation of the existing football field and track and the installation of new synthetic turf on the football/soccer field. The track received fresh paint and decomposed granite was placed in the area outside of the track. The project finished with the replacement of the perimeter fencing. In addition, new stadium lighting was completed in July as part of the phase I utility infrastructure renovation project on District grounds.

“The upgraded football stadium and track are amazing, and having a new field signals a new beginning for the teams that use these facilities,” said Michael Miranda, El Camino College Compton Center Associated Student Body commissioner of athletics and running back for the Tartar Football team.
