Compton Community College District Conducts Annual Organizational Meeting

The Compton Community College District (CCCD) Board of Trustees held its annual organizational meeting on December 13, 2016, and elected officers for 2017. Andres Ramos was elected president, Deborah LeBlanc was elected vice president; and Nicole Jones will serve as clerk.

Additionally, CCCD Board Member Sonia Lopez was appointed to serve as the District's representative to the Los Angeles County School Trustees Association and the Los Angeles County Committee on School District Organization. Deborah LeBlanc was pointed to review nominations for membership on the California Community College Trustees Board and make a recommendation to the CCCD Board of Trustees.

Compton Community College District Board of Trustees members are responsible for attending all Board meetings and key El Camino College Compton Center events, as well as participating in trustee education programs. The elected Board of Trustees have the authority to make motions, deliberate and provide an advisory vote, as well as participate in "closed session" meetings. The state-appointed Special Trustee continues to provide oversight and guidance, as well as maintain the authority provided in AB 318.
