An Accreditation Forum is scheduled at El Camino College Compton Center for April 3.  An updated version of the “Process to Accreditation” document for the El Camino College Compton Center has also been published. This document provides an overview of the actions required for the ECC Compton Center to progress toward accreditation eligibility.

The Accreditation Steering Committee (ASC) recently developed next steps in the Accreditation eligibility application timeline.

This spring, the ASC for ECC Compton Center and its five subcommittees continue to review and edit the third draft of the eligibility application document. In February, the third draft was reviewed by the Compton Center self-evaluation co-chairs and was then forwarded to the Accreditation Liaison Officer and the vice presidents for review and input in March. During this time, sources of evidence will be identified to link within the eligibility application document. Based upon input received, the editing process will begin in April.

In May, an updated draft of the eligibility application document is scheduled to be posted online for input via the consultation process. Final editing of the eligibility application will take place in June; followed by review of the document by the El Camino College President’s Cabinet.

According to this projected timeline, the final eligibility application will be included as an informational item at the ECCCD and CCCD Board meetings in July 2014.

The “Process to Accreditation” document and other information relative to accreditation may be found at ECC Compton Center’s website: www.compton.edu/campusinformation/accreditation.
