Compton College Website Wins Community College Marketing Award

Compton College's website, redesigned in 2016, won second place in the "Before and After" category at the 2017 Pro Awards. The Community College Public Relations Organization (CCPRO) holds the statewide competition annually where California Community Colleges are invited to submit entries showcasing their best work in marketing, public relations and communications.

Industry leaders in publishing, printing, photography, graphic design, writing, web and social networking judge hundreds of entries for this annual competition. Compton College's website met all of their criteria for appearance, organization, comprehensive content and navigational ease. CCPRO judges were especially impressed by the improved look of the new site and how its visual appeal has led to a significant increase in traffic.

The website serves as an informational hub for current and prospective students, faculty and staff of Compton College. It also plays an important role in attracting new students and as a resource for the community, supporters and alumni.

Other important features of the new site include a contemporary and user-friendly content management system, as well as a responsive design for better functionality on all user devices and browsers. The new layout and design was based on feedback from key stakeholders gathered through student surveys, research and focus groups and a committee of faculty and staff.
