Sociology 107: Issues of Race and Ethnicity in the United States

In this course, students examine issues of race and ethnicity in the United States
from a sociological
perspective. Sociological concepts and theories are used to analyze the current and
historical experiences of
groups, which are defined in racial and ethnic terms, and to assess how these definitions
and experiences influence the current status and attainments of these groups in
American society.

GRADING SCALE
1. The student who achieves the highest number of points on each method of evaluation
sets the curve (starts the "A's") for that particular task. The highest number of
points achieved equals 100% and the grades are then calculated as follows:
90-100% = A; 80-89%=B; 70-79% = C; 60-69% = D
2. This grading system will also be used to determine final grades which are based
upon the highest number of points acquired for the entire semester.
