Roza Ekimyan

Faculty, Human Development

Roza EkimyanI came to America in November 20, 1979 with my family and been in California ever since.  I grew up in the Metroplis area of Los Angeles. We lived next to Paramount Studios, so I was fortunate to see film crews and people in the neighborhood all the time.  For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to be a teacher and attend University of Southern California (USC).  I attended Los Angeles Valley College and transferred to USC.  After graduating from USC, I became a sixth grade English and Social Studies teacher for five years.  Then, I decided to get a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology and then earned then received an Ed.D. in Education in Community College Leadership.  I became an adjunct Counselor/Instructor since Fall 2006.  I became a Basic Skills Coordinator and then was a 3CSN Coordinator in Los Angeles Regional Network (LARN).  Since August 2014, I have been a full time tenure track faculty member in Human Development at El Camino College Compton Center.
