President/CEO Message

October 14, 2021

Happy Thursday! As many of you are aware, I read a lot of community college research studies, and I am always looking for opportunities to improve student success. As mentioned in the President/CEO Message - June 3, 2021, President/CEO Message - May 13, 2020, and the President/CEO Message - December 7, 2020, Compton College has collaborated with EAB Global, Inc. to provide research, insight, and actionable advice for student success. EAB is a research and technology company that helps schools support students from enrollment to graduation and beyond. I am hopeful that more Compton College faculty, Classified staff, and managers/supervisors will take advantage of EAB. Instructions for how to register for the EAB Global, Inc. website are available here. Please contact our Professional Development Manager, Pilar Huffman, at phuffman@compton.edu for any questions regarding EAB.

Data-driven decision-making leads to a better understanding of our institution, our students, faculty, and employees. The question is, how do we incorporate research into the day-to-day operations of the College? By analyzing the data and setting intentional and measurable goals, we can transform how we connect with our current, future, and former students. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on data and the role it plays at Compton College. Please email me your thoughts at kcurry@compton.edu.

Final Thoughts

In closing, I might not say this enough, but I want to THANK YOU the Compton College faculty, Classified staff, and managers/supervisors for all you do to support student success. I know right now, there is a lot of concern at our College regarding Compton College enrollment and the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we must remain focused on our students. Our differences or disagreements should not impact how we support our students and respond to their questions or concerns.

Please be safe and have a fantastic Friday.
