Compton College COVID-19 Update - June 8, 2020
As of June 6, 2020, there are a total of 128,812 positive cases and 4,626 deaths in California. For more information, go to www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/Immunization/ncov2019. Compton College continues to operate at Level Four - Severe Infection Rate, according to the Compton CCD Pandemic Outbreak - Emergency Operations Plan.

Summer Enrollment Update
As of today, June 8, 2020, Compton College has generated 388 Full-Time Equivalent Students for summer 2020. Our fill rate is at 48%, and our seats filled is 2,780. The Compton College Summer 2020 Enrollment Snapshot - June 8, 2020, is available here. We currently have 31 classes that are already full. Please encourage your current Compton College students to register now for summer 2020. The first six-week and eight-week summer sessions begin on Monday, June 22, 2020. District residents will receive a printed copy of the class schedule in their mailboxes by the end of this week.

Please note: All summer 2020 classes will be taught via Canvas or Zoom at the dates and times listed in the class schedule. All students should sign into Canvas via MyCompton prior to the first class meeting.

Compton College + Everytable Meal Delivery Program
Spring 2020 students may pick-up one free meal per day, compliments of the Compton College + Everytable partnership through June 30, 2020. Please remind students to take advantage of this free food. All they need is their current Compton College student ID card or a copy of their spring class schedule and a valid photo ID. Details, including hours of operation, are available here. Beginning June 15, summer 2020 students may also pick-up a free meal with proof of summer enrollment.

Reminder, Compton College employees can participate in the Everytable Employee Meal Delivery Program - $59 for ten meals, including delivery. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday evenings at midnight. Compton College employees can order and pay for the Everytable Employee Meal Delivery Program online here.

Student Communications
Students received an email from Vice President of Student Services, Elizabeth Martinez, extending her support to students and our community on June 2, 2020. She also provided contact information for St. John's Student Health Center for students that could benefit from having someone to talk to. Appointments may be scheduled by calling 323-541-1411. Vice President Martinez also noted that virtual spaces will be made available "to reflect and discuss current strategies and proactive measures we are implementing to further support our students and their ongoing success."

Compton Community College District Virtual Community Meeting
Compton CCD held a Virtual Community Meeting on June 3, 2020. Compton CCD Board of Trustees Vice President Dr. Sharoni Little and Clerk Barbara Calhoun co-hosted the meeting and topics included enrollment for summer and fall at Compton College, a campus facilities update, and an update on the District response to COVID-19. This Virtual Community Meeting provided students, parents, and community members with an opportunity to learn more about what Compton College has to offer and participate in discussions with the two Board of Trustees members. Compton Community College District Board of Trustees Meeting
The next meeting of the Compton Community College District Board of Trustees is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2020. Closed session begins at 4:00 p.m., with open session commencing at 5:00 p.m. via Zoom. Information on how to access the Board of Trustees meeting is available here.
