College Facilities Access and Safety

Access to College Facilities

College facilities exist to support the institution's principal function of supporting students in their pursuit and attainment of academic and career success. In addition to classrooms, labs, and offices, the College has food service, athletics, administrative support, maintenance, and utility facilities. The institution generally seeks to maintain open access to its facilities, but it reserves the right to restrict access. Access to laboratory, service, maintenance, and utility facilities is restricted for safety and operational reasons.

The College buildings and facilities are open and accessible during normal business hours and into the evening and weekend hours depending on the class schedule and events. Visitors and guests seeking to utilize College facilities for non-College-related events or activities are required to submit a Facilities Rental Request to the Business Office.

Security of Campus

Compton Community College District Campus Police and security staff conduct routine patrols of campus buildings to evaluate and monitor security-related matters.

Maintenance of Campus Facilities to Ensure Safety

The chief of police and the chief facilities officer along with maintenance and operations staff at Compton College work together to ensure that the campus is as safe as possible. Lighting, landscaping, and other safety-related aspects of the campus are continually monitored, maintained, and repaired.
