The Air Conditioning & Refrigeration program offers two types of community college certificates that hold value in business and industry.  For statewide curricular and data accountability purposes the CA Community College Chancellor's Office recognizes the certificate of achievement as a sequence of courses that prepares learners for the workforce (to earn financial aid for this type of program it must include a course of study with at least 16 units or be identified as an associate degree).  A Certificate of Achievement program consists of units  that can be used towards earning an associate in science degree.

A Certificate of Achievement will be granted upon completion of all program requirements. At least 50% of the courses for the Certificate of Achievement must be completed at Compton College.
