About:
The Upward Bound Program is a federally funded education program for high school students from historically disadvantaged backgrounds. The Upward Bound Program provides fundamental support to participants to complete secondary education and gain entrance to and complete their higher education pursuits.
We assist our students in attaining their educational goals by providing a comprehensive academic program throughout the school year and during the summer residential component. Students who participate in our program will be immersed in a learning environment, where learning takes place in and out of the classroom. In addition to instruction by highly qualified teachers, and tutoring services, we offer a wide array of activities, and workshops to ensure our students are well-rounded. Our program is committed to providing an environment where every student has the opportunity to learn and grow and feel safe in that process. We are committed to empowering our students to think critically, make educated decisions and take initiative in their educational and life pursuits.
The Upward Bound Program is located on the El Camino College- Compton Educational Center Campus. Our office is located in a Modular (bungalow) behind the Library next to the D Building adjancet to Parking Lot E. Our hours of operation are Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm and 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Friday.
