Associated Student Body - Your Student Council
All El Camino College Compton Center students are members of the Associated Student Body (ASB) and their governing group is the ASB Student Council. Elected officers for ECC Compton Center's Student Council play an important role and are responsible for determining how ASB fees will be used, coordinating many Compton Center activities, and representing student views on relative issues.
Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Academic Awards Tea and the ASB Awards Banquet are some of the special events coordinated annually by the Student Council in conjunction with the Office of Student Life.
Student Council Officers
The Associated Student Body elects students each spring to fill 11 Student Council Offices:

- Commissioner of Clubs and Organizations
- Commissioner of Activities
- Commissioner of Public Relations
- Commissioner of Environment
- Commissioner of Financial Aid
- Commissioner of Classes and Curriculum
- Commissioner of Athletics
The eligibility requirements to hold an ASB office include enrollment in 10 class hours per week, a minimum GPA of 2.0 and completion of fewer than 70 units.
Student Council Meetings
The student council meets every Tuesday in the Board Room (Bldg. A) at 1:00 p.m. All ECC Compton Center students are invited to attend.
