GRADUATION

Filing period for Fall 2014: September 2, 2014 through October 10, 2014

Forms:  Intent to Graduate - Petition for Certificate

Graduation Intents and Petitions for Certificates must be filed in the Admissions office by the deadline. Students that fail to petition by the deadline will have to submit a new petition to graduate for the following term when the next filing period opens. Late requests will not be considered!

Forms to apply for graduation and/or Certificates of Achievement or Certificates of Accomplishment are available in the Admissions and Records Office.  Fall graduation intents are available during September and October.  Spring graduation intents are available during January and February. The graduation ceremony is held on the second to last day of the Spring semester.  Degrees for Fall and Spring graduates are mailed in September; degrees for Summer graduates are mailed in September of the following year.

For further questions please contact the Admissions & Records office at 310-900-1600, ext. 2050 or COMAdmissions@elcamino.edu.

Some advice:

Prior to filing the Intent to Graduate and/or the Petition for a Certificate, it is highly recommended that students see a counselor before their final term at El Camino College.  This will ensure that students meet the requirements for their degree and/or certificate.

Requirements

  • Have all official transcripts from former college(s) on file at El Camino College Compton Center.  Failure to provide these transcripts can delay processing the graduation intent and further prevent the student from graduating in their desired term.  Please note that the college does not accept hand carry transcripts or unofficial transcripts.  Official transcripts from the former college(s) must be mailed directly to El Camino College Compton Center, Admissions and Records Office, 1111 E Artesia Blvd, Compton,CA 90221

  • Complete the form legibly, accurately, and entirely.  Missing or illegible information will delay processing the petition.

  • Meet the published deadline as found in the class schedule. Students that fail to submit their intent or petition by the published deadline will have their petitions processed the following term.

Forms submitted at the Admissions and Records Office at Compton Center are forwarded to evaluators at the Torrance campus once a week.
