It's Now Easier to Get to Compton College

To ease transportation and parking issues that may affect student enrollment during the 2017-18 academic year, Compton College launched a series of strategies in the fall 2017 semester to help relieve transportation and parking challenges for students, faculty, staff, and the community:

  • Metro U-PASS: Compton College is collaborating with Los Angeles Metro to provide a reduced fare for Compton College students. The Metro U-Pass provides students with unlimited rides on all Metro Rail and Bus, GTrans, Long Beach Transit and Torrance Transit throughout the fall 2017 semester and winter 2018 term, as well as the beginning of spring 2018 semester. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units to qualify. The lower units requirement allows more part-time students to participate.
  • Rideshare Pick-Up and Drop-Off Locations: Compton College has established three pick-up and drop-off locations for Uber and Lyft drivers on campus:
    • Parking Lot A
    • Parking Lot F
    • Administration Building (Flag Pole)
The campus map identifies these locations in purple: http://www.compton.edu/campusinformation/images/cec-alt-transport.jpg
  • Stacked Parking Service for fall 2017: To alleviate traffic due to the opening of the Tartar Village, Compton College provided a free Stacked Parking Service in Parking Lot A.
