Transfer & Career Fair a Big Success!

The annual ECC Compton Center Transfer and Career Fair earlier this month had its best turnout yet with a total of 900 participants for the day and night time events, including Compton Center students, community members, and local high school students and their parents. Representatives from more than 35 colleges and universities interacted with students and provided information regarding transfer opportunities. Students looking to transfer were invited to walk from table to table and gather information from the colleges/universities they have interest in attending.

The career and job fair portion of the event featured representatives from 45 local companies offering employment information about careers in their respective industries and the job application process. For job seekers looking to enhance their skills or train for a new career, ECC Compton Center’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) division offers job training for 16 occupational programs. For more information on CTE programs, visit www.compton.edu/academics/cte.

The College and Career Fair took place later the same day to support middle and high school students in their choice to pursue success in higher education and increase local college enrollment rates. The evening was co-sponsored by the Compton Unified School District and ECC Compton Center.
