FCMAT Update

FCMATThe Ninth Progress Report from the Fiscal Crisis and Management Assistance Team (FCMAT) was released in August 2015. The full FCMAT Report may be viewed here.

As demonstrated in the ninth progress report, improvement has been noted and the average ratings of the standards in the operational areas of Facilities Management, Financial Management and Community Relations/Governance of the Compton Community College District (CCCD) have increased during this reporting period.

The FCMAT report also identified certain subsets, within these three standards, that require additional improvement by the Compton Community College District (CCCD).

When an average rating of a subset of FCMAT standards in an operational area reaches a six, and CCCD has sustained the ratings for two consecutive years, FCMAT will no longer review the area for inclusion in its reports. (See page 9 of the FCMAT Report)

FCMAT has developed a set of legal and professional standards to provide a standards-based assessment process for comprehensive reviews and has endeavored to associate these standards with similar standards of the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). The ACCJC conducts its own assessment to determine the eligibility requirements for accreditation. The ACCJC accreditation process is separate and distinct from the legislatively mandated requirements of AB 318 and assessment by FCMAT.
