Accreditation Update


Upcoming Accreditation Workshop

An Accreditation 101 Workshop for faculty, staff and administrators is scheduled for May 16 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Staff Lounge. Workshop participants will be provided with a detailed overview of the accreditation standards and the accreditation eligibility requirements.

The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) will meet June 6-9, 2017 to review the External Evaluation Team report. El Camino College's superintendent/president will be informed of El Camino College Compton Center's accreditation status via a letter from the ACCJC sometime following that meeting. ECC Compton Center continues to work on implementation of the items cited in the future plans section of the ECC Compton Center Self-Evaluation Report and also the completion of the "Decision Making and Governance Manual for the Compton Community College District and ECC Compton Center."

On April 7, Dr. Richard Winn, Interim President/CEO of ACCJC, visited El Camino College Compton Center. During his visit, Dr. Winn met with El Camino College Superintendent/President Maloney, faculty representatives, student leaders, and El Camino College Compton Center Provost/CEO Keith Curry. Dr. Winn also had an opportunity to tour the ECC Compton Center campus.
