Awareness Safety Presentation

During the Spring Professional Development Day, ECC Campus Police Chief Michael Trevis presented information and a video regarding the best methods for responding to an active shooter emergency situation on campus. The awareness safety session was one of many programs in the ongoing “whole community” approach to enhance campuswide preparedness. Since 2007, El Camino College and ECC Compton Center police officers have completed numerous collaborative active shooter scenario training sessions with area police agencies. Through the college’s Emergency Preparation Committee, active shooter training will be expanded, beginning with emergency responders such as building captains, floor leaders and other emergency personnel, so that they know their roles and responsibilities prior to performing an actual exercise. Additional campus trainings will be implemented once the emergency responders have been trained. Read More...
