VP/CEO News

Happy New Year! Progressing into the spring 2015 semester, we look forward to helping students achieve significant milestones in their educational journey. The number of degrees and certificates awarded by ECC Compton Center in the last three years has increased by nearly 20 percent. We look forward to seeing even more students graduate this spring at the 2015 Commencement Ceremony, just a few short months away on May 14.

Another significant milestone of note this semester occurred when the El Camino Community College District Board of Trustees recently accepted the Accreditation Eligibility Application for ECC Compton Center.
El Camino College submitted the document to the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) for its ECC Compton Center. El Camino Community College District Superintendent Thomas Fallo and Compton Community College District Special Trustee Thomas Henry personally delivered the application to the ACCJC.

Faculty, staff, administration and students have worked diligently to achieve the eligibility standards, paving the way for El Camino College to apply for eligibility status of the ECC Compton Center. The eligibility application process is based upon ECC Compton Center meeting the 21 ACCJC eligibility standards.

The Eligibility Application marks a significant step in the process for ECC Compton Center to become an accredited college. The “Process to Accreditation” document will be updated this spring to reflect the next steps.

The application is available here.

Again, thank you to everyone who contributed to this important process, both at El Camino College and ECC Compton Center.

CEO, Compton Community College District
