Welcome New CCCD Employees


We are pleased to welcome Andrei Yermakov as the new Director of Information Technology Services, Eckko Blake is a new counselor for Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS), and Janette Morales, First Year Experience program coordinator/counselor.

Andrei Yermakov, Director of Information Technology Services

Yermakov will provide leadership and direction in the planning, implementation and maintenance of the Compton Community College District (CCCD) and El Camino College Compton Center’s information technology systems including network programming, security, and other interface with shared information systems to include institution-wide strategic planning, budgeting for information technologies, and oversight for all District information technology matters.

Yermakov brings more than 15 years of experience, including five in senior leadership, in information technology services spanning IT infrastructure, communication and network management, system operations, disaster recovery, and project management. Prior to joining the CCCD, he was the information technology manager at Integra Technologies, Inc. in El Segundo, California. He also served the City of Vernon (Calif.) for five years as information technology manager. In addition, he has held positions as senior technology consultant for Gursey, Schneider LLP in Los Angeles, and information technology analyst for EDC International, Inc. in Torrance.

Yermakov earned his master’s degree in electrical engineering at Kiev Polytechnic University in Kiev, Ukraine, and a bachelor’s degree in network and communications management from DeVry University.

Eckko Blake, EOPS Counselor

Blake will serve El Camino College Compton Center as the new counselor for Extended Opportunity Program and Services (EOPS). EOPS is a program that is designed to assist low- income and educationally disadvantaged students achieve their educational and career goals at the Compton Center. EOPS encourages the enrollment, retention, graduation, and transfer of students who are challenged by language, social, economic, and educational disadvantages. It provides eligible students with services that are over, above and in addition to those provided to the general college population.

Blake has served as an adjunct counselor at ECC Compton Center since January 2013 both in general academic counseling and with the EOPS/CARE programs. Concurrently, she worked at Los Angeles Southwest College as an adjunct counselor in both general counseling and for the Freshman Year Experience Program. During her career, she as also worked as an adjunct instructor at ECC Compton Center, Los Angeles Southwest College and Los Angeles City College teaching such subjects as human development, personal development, learning skills, and vocational education.

She earned both her master’s degree in counseling and a bachelor’s degree in public administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Janette Morales, FYE Coordinator/Counselor

Janette Morales joined ECC Compton Center as a full-time First Year Experience (FYE) program coordinator/counselor effective May 1, 2016. Morales has seven years of experience working at community colleges in the areas of counseling, outreach, teaching, case management, assessment, orientation, recruitment, financial aid, and curriculum and program planning. She has held adjunct counseling positions at Rio Hondo College, Santa Monica College Pasadena City College, Long Beach City College, Cerritos College and Citrus College.

Morales earned her master’s degree in counseling and student development in higher education from California State University, Long Beach. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in human services from California State University, Fullerton, and received an associate degree in liberal arts from Mt. San Antonio College.
