STACKED Parking

In an effort to provide easier parking access on campus, we are pleased to introduce a free "valet parking" program scheduled for the first two weeks of the fall 2017 semester.

All sections of Parking Lot A - off of Artesia Boulevard - will offer a parking system in which cars are parked in marked stalls as well as in the aisles. By using this system, an additional 215 cars can park in Lot A. Valet parking is open to students, employees, and visitors and is designed to offer parking options during the busiest times of the day, quickly and efficiently.

Stacked Parking available on campus August 28-September 7.

How it works:

  • Professional, uniformed parking attendants from a private parking company will direct vehicles to available parking spaces in Parking Lot A.
  • After the marked stalls are full, motorists will be directed to drive up and leave their keys with the attendants, who will park the vehicles in aisles and other available areas in the lot.
  • Drivers will be given a claim ticket to be used for obtaining their keys when they return for their cars.
  • Parking attendants retain keys for those parked in aisles and move vehicles as needed to allow for access and exit.

This system will run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday from August 28 through September 7. An attendant will remain on duty in Lot A until all cars are picked up.

The valet parking program has proven successful at other colleges and universities, including El Camino College, San Diego Mesa College, USC and UC Davis, as a safe and efficient way to meet the demand for parking at busy times, such as the beginning of each semester.

Please note: Drivers must display a current Compton College parking pass. A semester parking permit ($20) or daily parking permit ($3) must be displayed when parking anywhere on campus.

Parking Tips:

Please remember to arrive early in the first few weeks of the semester to allow enough time to get to your destination. Drivers are also reminded to park on campus and in designated spaces; please avoid parking in the neighboring communities and in restricted areas.

Employees and students are also encouraged to find alternative transportation to campus during the first few weeks of the semester to help alleviate parking congestion - try the bus, ride a bike - carpool!

Transportation Options

Compton College students have several alternative transportation options: walk/bike, Uber/Lyft rideshare, and discounted Metro U-passes!
